I met Erica early on in my Los Angeles adventure. It was right about the time that I was going through some major life changes, and my meeting with her left me with this resounding impression of GIRL POWER. It was very inspirational to me at the time, and still is. She had warmth and positivity, but also an inspiring resolution and mission to make an impact.
Erica is now one of the leading doula's in Los Angeles, and I feel very honored that she served as mine. If it weren't for Erica I wouldn't have known that there are stages of labor (duh!), what to do when they ask me if I wanted erythromycin in my newborns eyes, what to do when I pushed... and any number of things that most women are completely clueless about going into it. Her sessions were so rewarding for both me and my husband.
Last year she released her gorgeous and incredibly thorough book - Nurture: A Modern Guide to Pregnancy, Birth, Early Motherhood - and Trusting Yourself and Your Body - which is becoming every women's replacement for the iconic What to Expect When Your Expecting. Also last year, she launched LOOM - a stylish hub for parenting and education around all things family related. If you live in the Los Angeles area and are pregnant, a new parent or planning to be one, it is a must to check out.

The can't live without it daily ritual that keeps you inspired?
Dancing and singing In the mornings — I usually will start my day by playing a song I love loud on my Sonos and jamming out.
What is in your desert island cosmetic bag, and how do you use it?
Honestly — nuci. I love it that much and I’d use it everywhere.
And since we are on an island... what's your favorite way to use coconut?
I’d eat it!
What impression do you want to leave?
I’d love to be remembered as a kind person who spoke openly about their vulnerability, encourage others to do the same and had no trouble being silly when the moment was right.
