FEMME FRIDAY // Kyle Miller & Sian Gordon

The two beauties behind the Love Yoga studio literally make you want to stop, drop, and do yoga... or something along those lines. Or at least say, I'll have what they're having.

Kyle Miller and Sian Gordon are not only both incredibly fit and beautiful, they are also really cool - and have tapped into a vibe that feels really clean and authentic. Having two studios that occupy both the east and west side of LA - they pretty much have it covered.

With their own unique style that is a blend of Kotonah, Iyengar and Vinyasa yoga; their practice inspires you to tap into your best self, and take ownership of the both the mental and physical. Think brain + body.

The studios are bright, upbeat, and feel really good. Nothing hippie or fussy about it at all. And, as someone who always wondering how friend in business partnership works, they totally make it look super fun and fulfilling.

Thank you ladies for all the good work you do!

Your 3 Word Bio:

Super effing unique

One thing the internet doesn't know about you?

Hmmm... I think at this point the internet knows everything about everyone... but I don't really show that I am a good cook and salads are my speciality.

The can't live without it daily ritual that keeps you inspired?

Making green smoothies!!  Makes me feel like i am really and truly taking care of myself.  I pick 2 oranges from my tree, peel them and blend with spinach, almond milk, and Moon Juice adaptogenic protein.  It feels like I am nourishing myself with the sun's energy and the preparation process soothes me.

What is in your desert island cosmetic bag, and how do you use it?

Living Libations poetic pits in rose glow which is the best natural deodorant of all time and doubles as a perfume.  Isle of Roses hair oil to tame my tresses and intoxicate me with the scent.  Nucifera to moisturize head to toe.  Playa conditioner so that i don't develop dreadlocks on said island.  And Osea ocean cleanser to wash it all away.

And since we are on an island... what's your favorite way to use coconut?

I love scooping out the flesh and eating it whenever I am lucky enough to be drinking straight from a coconut.

TOP 3 books everyone needs to read while they are there.

Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, translated by Swami Satchidanda... the best, a total eye opener.

The Neapolitan Novels, by Elena Ferrante... perfect marooned on an island fun reading, by women, about women, for women!

Staying Healthy with the Seasons, by Elson M. Haas.. so practical, and such a beautiful perspective on the passage of time

What impression do you want to leave?

One of kindness and authenticity.

SIAN GORDON

Your 3 Word Bio:

I like guavas.

One thing the internet doesn't know about you?

I'm a complete nerd and I like to spend my nights at home with books and old records.

The can't live without it daily ritual that keeps you inspired?

Surfing. It doesn't happen daily but it's what I live for.

What is in your desert island cosmetic bag, and how do you use it?

Isle of Roses hair oil

Lapis face oil by Herbivore

Living Libations Everybody Loves the Sunshine with Zinc

And since we are on an island... what's your favorite way to use coconut?

I slather the oil of it on my body everyday and in my hair after I surf!

TOP 3 books everyone needs to read while they are there.

I prefer books that require me to keep the my dictionary close by. My tops 3 pics are :

Lolita by Vladmir Nabokov

Call Me by Your Name by Andre Aciman

Is Away by AA gill which is obscure travel writing by a writer I'm obsessed with.

What impression do you want to leave?

Integrity is important to me. I try hard to always tell the truth and to do what is right rather than what is easy.  I want my community to feel that they can rely on me for that. I think it's particularly important to look out for that quality in this day and age when everything has become so accessible.  We are no longer required to take care of each other in the ways we once were.
